We, Sherwood and Areli Pope, were married for nearly three years at the time of these events. We were serving as missionaries in Quiché, Guatemala. Sherwood is from the United States (Michigan) and Areli is from Mexico (Mexico City). As of the time of this writing we are back in Michigan where Sherwood is working at a Christian clinic in Detroit.

The purpose of this site is to share our story of the goodness of God through the experience of the life and death of our daughter Esther Nina. It is not our intent to share untruthful, imaginative, or embellished stories but rather the truth of these events. It is our prayer that many who read this and have passed through similar circumstances will receive comfort and be encouraged. May you find the peace that passes all understanding that can only be found in Jesus Christ.
