Does anyone really heal from something like this? That depends on what one means by "heal." In our experience, events like this change you forever. It changed not only the direction of our lives, but also our hearts. Was it all for the bad? Certainly not! Was it and does it continue to be painful? Yes. Does time heal all wounds? We don't think so, but God working in your life over time brings healing. We think God has been faithful to bring healing to us and He will continue to do it. He has done this directly and has also used other believers to bring this healing. No one is ever completely healed this side of heaven. That's why our hope is there--in heaven.

 

25 For I know that my Redeemer lives,
      and at the last he will stand upon the earth.
26 And after my skin has been thus destroyed,
      yet in my flesh I shall see God,
27 whom I shall see for myself,
      and my eyes shall behold, and not another.
      My heart faints within me!
