When we were in the car heading to the nearest hospital, I began to feel a peace that I had never felt before--despite the fact that I was still bleeding and I felt very cold. Everything changed in the truck. I knew that God was working in us. While Sherwood was driving, he called his mom and I called mine. I remember that we asked them to pray but also we told them that we had peace. I told my mom, "It's a girl...everything is going to be all right, mama.

All the way to the hospital I was praying out loud. Sherwood carried me into the emergency room. They did another ultrasound and saw that the placenta was abrupting and our daughter was alive. Immediately, they began to prepare me for an emergency c-section.

On the way to the operating room and seeing the hospital, for a moment, I thought of Sherwood, of my daughter, and myself being separated. But as quickly as the thought came, so it left. I still can't explain it well, but I knew it wasn't yet time to go be with the Lord. And I began to pray that God would help the doctors to do what they had to do.
